Who invented zero?

Zero (0) was first invented by the ancient Babylonians and later adopted by the ancient Egyptians. However, the modern concept of zero as a number that represents nothing was developed by the ancient Indian mathematician Brahmagupta in the 7th century. He was the first to write down the rules for arithmetic with zero, such as the fact that 0 times any number is equal to 0, and that you cannot divide by zero. The modern symbol for zero (0) was first used in print in a book called "Arithmetica Integra" by the mathematician Johann Kepler in 1623.
