What is a gallbladder? Can we live without it?

The gallbladder is a small organ located under the liver that stores and releases bile, a digestive fluid produced by the liver. Bile helps the body digest fats and absorb fat-soluble vitamins. While the gallbladder is not essential for survival, it plays an important role in the digestion process and its removal can lead to digestive issues such as diarrhea and fat malabsorption. People can live without a gallbladder, but they may experience some changes in their digestion.
